Accredited Food Safety Training - Classroom Based

RSPH Level 2 Award in Food Safety & Hygiene ( 1 day course) - £95.00 per person


This course is suitable for anyone involved in the food or drink industry and offers a good introduction to food safety. The course includes:

  • Introduction to food safety
  • Microbiological hazards
  • Food poisoning and its control
  • Contamination hazards
  • Hazards, controls and monitoring from purchase to service
  • Spoilage and preservation
  • Personal hygiene
  • Premises and equipment
  • Pest recognition and control
  • HACCP - food safety management
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Food safety legislation and law enforcement

This course has a minimum of 6 hours of learning followed by a multiple choice test paper. The test paper is sent to RSPH for marking and the society provides the certificates. 

It is a good idea to prepare for this course by thinking about the role that you play in the business where you work and what your responsibilities towards food safety are.

A good idea is also to think about what you feel are the main food safety risks involved in the job that you do and ways that you have tried to minimise the risks or ideas of how you could. Feel free to write these down and bring along to the course where we can discuss them and investigate further together and answer any questions you may have that are specific to your job role or business.


RSPH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety  ( 3 day course) - £345 per person

 This course is ideal for supervisors, business owners and managers. The course is run over 3 days and includes the opportunity to sit not only the level 3 multiple choice test for food safety but also the RSPH Level 2 award in understanding HACCP multiple choice test.

Although this course content is similar to the level 2 food safety, there is a big leap from there. The course has a minimum of 18 hours of learning. The test papers are sent to RSPH in London for marking and they issue the certificates. The course includes:

  • Introduction to food safety
  • Microbiology
  • Food contamination and its prevention
  • Food poisoning and foodbourne diseases
  • Personal hygiene
  • The storage and temperature of food
  • Food spoilage and preservation
  • The design and construction of food premises and equipment
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Pest control
  • Supervisory management (HACCP)
  • Food safety legislation

You may wish to prepare for this course by refreshing yourself with your current HACCP (food safety management system) and writing down any questions or issues you feel are important to your business. It may also be a good idea to visit the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website to update yourself with current regulations and issues www.food.gov.uk


RSPH Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety & Hygiene (4 day course plus own study / project)

RSPH Level 2 Award in Identifying and Controlling Food Allergy Risks (1 day course) - £75 per person

This course is ideal for anyone involved with preparing food for people who are at risk of food allergens and covers the following:


Understand why food allergens need to be controlled, with reference to:

  • Symptoms produced by ingestion of allergens in food
  • Why Food Business Operators need to identify and control food allergens
  • Foods that commonly cause adverse reactions.


Know how to protect people with food allergies and intolerances from adverse reactions, with reference to:


  • Food allergens in dishes and products
  • Routes of food allergen cross contamination and methods of control
  • How communication can reduce the risk of adverse reactions.

e-Learning courses will be delivered via email once payment has been received - when you have completed the course there is a short multiple choice test to sit that is set by us. This is then returned to us by email, we mark it and issue you with a Jurassic Coast Food Safety certificate of course completion.
